Types of Hormone Replacement Therapy
-
Hormone Pellet Therapy
Pellet therapy has gained the most popularity over the last decade as it has the benefit of continued release into the bloodstream without surges and dips. This prevents overproduction of red blood cells and reduction of diseases associated with aging. The pellets are about the size of a grain of rice and are inserted in the upper buttocks by a provider in the office taking less than 10 minutes and repeated every 4 to 6 months. With pellets, there are no prescriptions or reminders of when to administer medications. Mojo Vitality uses pellets with Bioidentical hormones, closely replicating the molecular structure of hormones that normally occur in the body.
-
Intramuscular Injection
Most common because of its lower cost, this medication can also be sent to your home address for self-administration, or you can come into the clinic for a quick visit and have it injected. An intramuscular injection (IM injection) is a technique used to deliver a medication deep into the muscles. This allows for better absorption with slow release into the over 1 to 2 weeks.
-
Topical Therapy
This medication comes in a gel or a cream and is administered daily to the skin. This does have the benefit of a more constant administration level within the bloodstream superior to intramuscular therapy. This can be direct shipped to your home address. It is usually applied to the shoulders, upper arms, or abdomen. Topical testosterone is a safe and effective way to treat low testosterone levels. It is generally well-tolerated, with few side effects.
Along with estrogen and testosterone, Mojo Vitality offers progesterone and thyroid replacement therapy. Progesterone can moderate the side-effects of excess estrogen, while treatment of thyroid is imperative to help the patient feel optimal.
Biote Pellets
Mojo Vitality has partnered with Biote, a leading pellet provider for hormone restoration in men and women. The Biote Method is a trusted multi-faceted approach to hormone therapy and offers a wealth of additional information at www.biote.com.

As perceived sometimes, too much testosterone in women can lead to side effects such as increased body hair, a deeper voice, or acne. That is why it is important to talk to our doctor at Mojo Vitality to get the proper dosage, starting low, to help contain any unwanted side effects of testosterone therapy.

Women lose about 1% of their estrogen per year after the age of 30. As menopause approaches, lower amounts of estrogen can cause anxiety, depression, mood swings, vaginal dryness, and memory lapses. Estrogen replacement therapy can bring these levels back up and address these symptoms.

6,000 women enter menopause daily, and the average age of menopause in the US is 51. Symptoms may begin in a woman’s early 30’s when the ovaries slowly stop producing estrogen which regulates the menstrual cycle before menopause. Generations before us wrongly had menopause associated with the end of life, or at least a loss of quality life. But today, hormone replacement therapy and a different outlook can help get women feeling like they have their mojo back.
